Pointing and clicking

David Rutland

OK. A few years ago, I created an interactive game for Android, called Day of the Worms. It was short and sweet, and although I enjoyed making it, and in my opinion, it was pretty fun - It was a dead-end project.

DOTW was originally coded in Java using Android Studio, but I ported it to Twine for giggles. It will be available in the top menu when I actually find the files (possibly on my old Pi), and you can play it if you're interested - although be aware that there are flaws.

I think that DOTW would be better as a much-expanded point and click adventure.

While I'm in love with the idea, I have neither the coding nor drawing chops to get started.

I'm more or less convinced that Godot is the way forward. It's Linux-native, has excellent support for 2D pixel art, and provides a visual scripting system. I'm also going to create some mock-ups in GIMP, and follow some YT pixelart tutorials.

I think that the biggest thing is going to be actually commiting to doing it. So this is that. This is my development blog.
